| The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior has 84 rooms, including 80 doubles, three
Junior Suites and one Suite. Recently renovated, the rooms are equipped
with the most modern comforts such as air conditioning, a colour TV set
with satellite channels, radio, a telephone and a mini bar. Most rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the lake and of the surrounding landscape, which have always represented an ideal destination for travellers looking for peace and relaxation. Standard Room : The 27 Standard rooms are wide and comfortable as well as silent and therefore appreciated by clients who look for peace and relaxation. Some of the rooms located on the top floor offer a nice view of the Cathedral. Deluxe Room : The 53 Deluxe rooms are wide and bright and enjoy a view of the lake. From the second floor upward, they also have a panoramic balcony. Interconnecting rooms are available. Suite/Junior Suite : The three Junior Suites and the Suite, all located on the top floor, face the lake and are composed of a bright and pleasant sitting room leading to the wide and comfortable bedroom. The Suite is ideal for accommodating families since it has two bathrooms, one main bedroom and a sitting area with a fold out couch. Located on the first floor facing the main square and the lake, the Barchetta is the ideal place both for a candlelight dinner and for business meetings and banquets. Every morning, a rich buffet breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The wide range of the menu includes Mediterranean, regional and local dishes, as well as vegetarian alternatives and menus customised according to the client’s demand. The restaurant is open all year round and houses gastronomic events as well as celebrations on special occasions. - Bistro Located on the ground floor, the ”Bistro” is recommended for informal luncheons. As in the main restaurant, great attention is paid to clients, according the company philosophy. From Monday to Friday, the Bistro offers its business lunch, with a menu the chef modifies daily. In the summertime, the Bistro opens its terrace facing the main square and becomes a meeting point to sample the long drinks, the cocktails and the after dinner drinks concocted by the hotel’s barman. - American Bar The American Bar is a meeting place for those who love the tasting of vintage wines and liqueurs suggested by the experienced hotel barman. During the year, ”afternoon tea” is enjoyed with guided tastings of the finest flavoured infusions and hot chocolate, all accompanied by a selection of pastries. The American bar also offers a ”'happy hour” with drinks accompanied by a wide selection of hot and cold snacks and canaps. motorway. Exit the motorway at Como Sud and follow the signs towards the
town centre. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is located on Piazza Cavour,
directly on the lake. The distance is approximately 65 Km and it takes
50 minutes to reach the hotel. Milan Malpensa Airport: from the airport, head towards Milan on the A8 motorway. When you reach Cantalupo, take the A9 motorway, towards Como–Chiasso and exit at Como Sud. Follow the signs towards the town centre. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is located on Piazza Cavour, directly on the lake. The distance is approximately 60 Km and it takes 40 minutes to get to the hotel. Lugano Agno Airport: from the airport, head towards Lugano. Once in Lugano, look for the A9 motorway towards Lugano-Milano. 200 metres after crossing the border veer left towards Cernobbio/Lago. Follow signs to the town of Como. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is located on Piazza Cavour, directly on the lake. The distance is approximately 40 Km and it takes 30 minutes to get to the hotel. By Train For travellers coming from Germany and Switzerland, Como is the first station after the Swiss border. Most trains running to Milan and to other Italian destinations stop at the Como San Giovanni station. For travellers coming from other directions, Milan Centrale is an important crossroads. Once at the Milano Centrale station, connect to Como through trains running to Switzerland and Germany. From the San Giovanni station, you can reach the Hotel Barchetta Excelsior either by taxi (in 5 minutes) or on foot (in 10/15 minutes, if travelling with light luggage). From the Milan Malpensa Airport, there is a special train: the Malpensa Express (Ferrovie Nord Milano). Get off at the Saronno station and look for the connection to Como Nord Lago station. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is only 5 minutes on from the station (direction Lung Lario Trieste).The total distance is approximately 60 kilometres and it takes 60 minutes to get to the hotel. From Milan Linate Airport, catch bus no 1 to Piazza San Babila. When there, look for the underground station (MM, Line 1, Red Line) and catch the train to Cadorna. Soon after leaving the underground, you will find the Milano Nord Cadorna station, where trains to Como Nord Lago run approximately every 60 minutes (30 minutes during rush hours).The total distance is approximately 65 kilometres and it takes 90 minutes to get to the hotel. By bus From the Milan Malpensa Airport a bus (SPTLINEA, Line C250) connects Malpensa to Como. The bus leaves from terminal one 1 and stops just in front of the Hotel Barchetta Excelsior. The distance is approximately 65 Km and it takes 50 minutes to get to the hotel.
